Tutoring Experience!

Today, our class had the pleasure to visit Ms. Hine's class and try her student's cinnamon buns. My experience was very delightful and eye opening! I was faced with a different environment that went on in my school that I wasn't very familiar with. I got to see how everyone in the class worked and it was something I enjoyed observing. The students were very sweet and they had there own personalities. In the time we had with them, they treated us very nicely and made us feel apart of the class! This experience really opened my eyes to the level of these special students. I overall enjoyed this experience and I would love to make a trip back!

Blog Post 6: New Year Resolutions!

For this year; 2014, I want to maintain good grades while trying to keep up with a sport and being active in clubs. I strive to maintain good grades and to improve as much as I can every school year. In English, I want to become move active in class/group discussions!Overall, I want to study hard and work to my best ability!  For my personal goals, I want to be less dependent on electronics and become a more social butterfly! I want to meet new people and never miss an opportunity of making new friends! I also want to eat a lot healthier, instead of munching on loads of junk food all the time. Lastly, I want to always have time to take a step back and appreciate all that I have blessed for me this year!

The Meaning of Allegory

An allegory is a story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning. It's usually applied to show a moral or a political stance. When allegory is used, the author is trying to convey a deeper message within the writing itself. It's a powerful writing tool to express an idea because it requires the reader to use critical thinking and dig deeper into the meaning of the words to put together the message that is not so obvious.

Exploratory Writing

From the Animal Farm, if I was an animal listening to Squealer's speech I would take the speech as how he's trying to interpret his opinion to the animals. In this case, Squealer is supporting Napoleon's decision of taking the voice of the animals away for the good of the farm.I would understand his viewpoint because being under Napoleon's leadership is better than going back to Mr. Jones cruel ways. Squealer is trying to get Napoleon's idea across in a way to say that he supports the plan and so should the other animals. In my opinion. if I wasn't one of the animals, I would speak up and say that as a leader Napoleon should take in all the opinions and ideas because a leader is nothing without his team. I also predict if the animal's needs go unheard and unrecognized a revolt will form and be held against Napoleon. In the end, Napoleon is neglecting the animals rights and taking total dictatorship over them which is wrong in our world today but in the animal farm, they aren't provided with much of a choice and only have the choice to listen for a wish at better future.

Leader Traits

A leader should acquire the trait of intelligence but many other traits as well. A leader should be kindhearted, responsible, organized, and passionate about leading others. Also, as a leader they must put themselves in their teammates shoes and be open minded to different perspectives. Taking on the position as a leader is a hard job that requires someone who is passionate and ready to help better themselves as well as the others around them.
